Idlewheel encourages the submission of short fiction, poetry and creative personal essay. Send us your best and most daring. We aim to be accessible and selective. If you can help us with that, we want to see your work.
For fiction, we’re interested in the following:
Micro (101– 999)
Drabble (exactly 100)
55 fiction (exactly 55)
Dribble (exactly 50)
We consider the following kinds of poetry:
Haiku
Sonnet
Prose poetry/free verse
Quality light verse (Wow us with depth
and language here).
Personal essays need to exemplify the qualities of fine literary nonfiction and should not exceed 800 words. No strictly expository pieces, please.
No unsolicited reprints in any genre, please, and no genre fiction. Simultaneous submissions are welcomed as long as indicated and you inform us of acceptance elsewhere immediately. Until further notice, all submissions may be sent to idlewheel.editor at gmail dot com. Thanks and best of luck.
